Character: Asmodeus of Lust
Version: Anime
Series: Umineko no Naku Koro ni
When Completed: Jan. 2010
Personal Thoughts:
This costume. THIS. COSTUME. Seriously was a bigger pain in the butt then expected/wanted. There was issue after issue. not to mention lots of wig drama. I will say that I’m really glad with the final result and I can’t wait to wear it again. Also …. STAKE AND BURGERS.
Worn to:
ALA 2010
Construction notes: Main skirt, bow and body suit made of stretch velvet. Red coat and vest were both lightly modified patterns that I already owned. Black trim is lace. Patch was designed and sent to me by DayDreamerNessa. Pink tie I actually made out of pink satin, because I have way too much pink fabric for my own good. The skirt part was the hardest by far. The main black one has some serious heavy interfacing and trimmed with purple bias tape. The golden wing is vinyl put on with heat-n-bond. Red skirt is the same as the black, but no interfacing. White skirt is satin with a scallop edging. There is a netting and tulle petticoat under there that I made, but I think the weight of the skirts weighs it down to where it defeats it’s purpose. At least the back doesn’t sag as bad without it. Stockings I owned and boots were purchased as is. White undershirt I already owned as well. Wig was from cosplayDNA. Oh and garter belts will return next time. They broke as they didn’t stretch enough to function correctly. Oops.

The skirt on this is perfect. I’m actually planning on doing Asmodeus this year as well, and every time I look at this skirt,I fall apart. Can you give me some pointers on drafting it?I’m also kind of a sewing noob :/
I will admit that the skirt was the hardest part of the costume. I wouldn’t recommend tackling this costume if you don’t have much experience. However, make sure the skirt has some pretty stiff interfacing. There’s a small petticoat I made under there too to help poof it out a bit. Take your time and make a few practice skirts first before you tackle the real thing. Good luck!
Thank you for the advice !
